    Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Planning announced, on Wednesday, that more than 346 commercial establishments exist in Iraq, while it showed that the capital, Baghdad, ranked first in everything, and Al-Muthanna Governorate the least.



    The Ministry's Trade Statistics Directorate, according to a report seen by Shafaq News Agency, made a "comprehensive inventory of commercial establishments in Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, which showed that there are 446,793 commercial establishments, of which 318,792 are private establishments out of the total commercial establishments, which accounted for 91.9%, while There were food and beverage service activities, which amounted to 28,001 establishments, or 8.1%.
    The Directorate stated, “The results showed that Baghdad is the highest in the number of commercial establishments for wholesale and retail trade, sale and repair of vehicles and motorcycles, which amounted to 21.2%, followed by Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, with a rate of 8.8%, then Sulaymaniyah Governorate, with 8.7%, then Nineveh Governorate, with a rate of 8.1%.” And then the province of Basra, with a rate of 7.5% of the total number of commercial establishments.
    And she indicated that "Al-Muthanna Governorate was the least among the governorates in terms of the number of commercial establishments, with a rate of 1.9%."
    She indicated that "the results also showed that the Baghdad governorate is the highest in the number of food and beverage service facilities and cafes, with a rate of 24.3%, followed by the Sulaymaniyah governorate in the Kurdistan Region with a rate of 10.4%, followed by the Basra governorate with a rate of 6.7%, followed by the Erbil governorate with a rate of 6.6%, followed by Karbala governorate accounted for 6.3% of the total number of food and beverage service establishments, while Al-Muthanna governorate was the lowest in the number of food and beverage service establishments, reaching 2.3% of the total number of food and beverage service establishments.
    And she indicated that "the number of commercial establishments that have electronic commerce activity amounted to 36,398 establishments, or 11.4% of the total number of establishments," pointing out that "the results showed that the highest percentage of establishments that had e-commerce activity was in Baghdad with a rate of 16.2%, followed by Basra Governorate, with a rate of 16.2%." 12.8%, then the Sulaymaniyah governorate with a rate of 11%, while the Muthanna governorate was the least among the governorates in the number of establishments that have electronic activity, with a rate of 1.1%.
    The term "establishments" means all commercial stores, huge shopping centers, and malls.
