Planning announces the launch of the results of the labor market survey in the private sector

{Local: Al Furat News} Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning Muhammad Tamim announced today, Thursday, the launch of the results of the labor market survey in the private sector for medium and large enterprises in a number of selected activities in all governorates except for the Kurdistan region.
The minister said in a speech during the launch ceremony of the results held at the ministry's headquarters: "The completion of this survey comes in line with the government's directives to open new horizons for the private sector, in order to achieve the principle of partnership," adding that "real development cannot be achieved by Without the existence of a private sector capable of occupying the arena in a manner commensurate with the country's development needs.
He pointed out that "the indicators that emerged from the survey give us a good picture of the reality of the labor market, and it also diagnoses the problems facing this reality, especially with regard to those related to the number of large and medium operating establishments, the number of workers in economic activities, the percentage of foreign workers, and the existing specializations." And the legal status of these establishments and their employees, and other important indicators, will greatly benefit us in drawing up policies and drawing up development plans through which the private sector can be developed, in light of the trend towards transforming the Council for the Development of this sector into a permanent body.
Tamim called on "all relevant parties from the public and private sectors, civil society organizations, and international organizations, to seriously cooperate in benefiting from the survey outputs in improving the level of the labor market in the Iraqi private sector, and enabling it to play its required role, in a way that serves development and achieves true partnership between the two sectors.”
For his part, the head of the Central Bureau of Statistics, Diaa Awad Kazem, said in a speech during the ceremony: "The labor market survey is an important tool for understanding the current and future situation of the labor force in Iraq. It also defines the gaps and challenges facing the labor market." He added, "The aim of conducting the survey is to find out the specializations required for the work of the private sector. And to draw a picture of the suitability of all types of education outputs with the needs of the labor market. For the purpose of developing the educational and training system and increasing employment and productivity opportunities."
And he stated, "The results of this survey show us the level of required skills and the diagnosis of the important needs for jobs, qualifications and specializations, with the identification of the main professions in the economic establishments of the private sector and its need for the outputs of technical and vocational education and the efficiency and quality of training courses."
In addition, the Director of Population and Manpower Statistics Department at the Central Bureau of Statistics, Bushra Abdel Qader, reviewed the important results of the survey. She indicated that the number of modernized establishments amounted to 4,349 large and medium operating establishments, while the number of responding establishments reached 4,156, with a response rate of 95.6% of the total number of establishments. Facilities that have been upgraded
She added that "the number of workers in economic activities in the establishments covered by the survey amounted to 93,420 workers, as the percentage of workers in the establishments whose owners were interviewed directly constituted 92.9% of the total workers in the responding establishments. While the Iraqis working in important professions in the establishments constituted 99.1% of the total workers in these establishments, and non-Iraqis constituted a percentage of 0.9%,” noting that “the results of most of the establishments have an independent legal entity, as the percentage reached 96.6%, and their registration in the official authorities related to them was 97.9%.”
