    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani held, on Friday, a session of talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

    And the media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement, that “Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani held, this morning, Friday, a session of talks with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of his participation in the Arab-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” ".

    The statement added, "During them, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to consolidate them to a deeper level of strategic cooperation and sustainable partnership in various fields."

    Al-Sudani affirmed, "Iraq's desire to benefit from Chinese expertise in various fields, and its aspiration to enhance the principle of partnership with China within the Belt and Road Initiative, and in the areas of infrastructure."

    He explained that "Iraq represents a fundamental pillar of stability in the region, and that sustainable development and the path to regional and international economic prosperity was and still passes through Iraq's full constructive role on the Arab and international arenas."

    For his part, the Chinese president referred to "Iraq's geographical location and its civilizational status, enabling it to play an important role in sustainable development projects and to be a bridge and meeting point between the countries of the region and the world."

    He expressed his country's aspiration for more bilateral cooperation at various levels, reiterating his country's support for the security, sovereignty and stability of Iraq.
