The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Masoud Haider, identified four measures to advance the administrative apparatus in the Iraqi state.
Haider told "Al-Iqtisad News" that "Iraq needs a unified retirement law for the public and private sectors, in addition to amending many laws so that they are consistent with the current political system as well as with the market economy, and that the state's economic institutions supervise and direct and do not play a direct role in the economy."
He added that Iraq also needs a unified electronic administrative system linking the tax with the registration of companies and retirement, the Ministry of Labor and the Budget and Accounting Department to standardize data and open the private sector employees section in the tax department.
And he considered that "the most important step is the biometric procedure for every person who receives a salary from the government, including retirement. We need about 2-3 years to conduct this matter, and it will save the government billions of dollars."
He pointed out that "the application of a comprehensive banking system for all government banks and restructuring them so that their management is similar to private sector institutions and the provision of infrastructure."
And he cautioned to "work with competent and loyal general managers to work in a way that serves our country and our people, and the Prime Minister is a strong supporter of reforming the state's economic institutions. We also count on the support of the political blocs and leaders in this regard."
