    Economy News - Baghdad
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, renewed the emphasis on not including the new salary scale in the 2023 budget, while he talked about 3 options for passing it if the government sent it after the budget was approved.
Cougar said that the salary scale law "is exclusively the prerogative of the executive body, because it bears a financial side, and we, as a parliamentary financial committee, did not officially receive any salary scale."
In an interview with the "Without Accusation" program on "Al-Furat" channel, which was followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", Cougar added, "It is also not fully included in the 2023 budget."
He explained, "If the law is sent and amended after the approval of the 2023 budget, we will have 3 options, that the salary scale adjustment be within the current amount without additions, i.e. reducing the upper salaries and increasing the minimum salaries within the limited ceiling in the budget."
And Cougar continued, saying: “Or through a supplementary budget for the salary scale, or postponing it with the 2024 budget.”
