On Sunday, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, confirmed the insistence on holding the local elections on time without any further delay.

Nassif said in a press interview, "Opening the door for nomination and interviews for the Electoral Commission is within the competence of the House of Representatives," pointing to "forming a committee whose mission is to open the nomination form for the new Electoral Commission, where the candidates will be interviewed immediately after the end of the legislative recess."

She added, "The completion of the process of selecting candidates will not take more than fifteen days," stressing that "the state of law and the rest of the political forces and the Sudanese insist on holding the local elections on time without any delay."

Nassif indicated, "The House of Representatives formed a committee whose mission is to open the nomination form for the new Electoral Commission for the purpose of interview and evaluation."
