    The US State Department called on political parties in the Kurdistan region to hold parliamentary elections, and said that these parties have an obligation to take the necessary steps in this context.[/rtl]
    [rtl]In response to an e-mail asking about the issue of parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region, the US State Department said: “We hope that the political parties in the Kurdistan region will take the necessary steps and perform their duties, and the elections will be held in accordance with democratic principles, the laws of the Kurdistan region and the constitution of Iraq.”[/rtl]
