The Ministry of Transport is working to complete the steps required by the local and international aviation authorities to lift the European air embargo on the national carrier.
The director of the media office at the ministry, Maitham Al-Safi, told Al-Sabah that the ministry has attached great importance to the civil aviation file and its development, indicating that this file has witnessed remarkable progress in terms of compliance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the European Air Navigation Safety Agency, through direct supervision by Minister of Transport on the work of Iraqi lines.
He explained that he headed a specialized committee formed to follow up the file of the European ban, with the membership of representatives of the General Company of Iraqi Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, and experienced specialists, through which great and important steps were achieved to finish this file, by implementing the requirements of international regulations and standards, so that the green bird would return to fly in European airspace. .
Al-Safi stressed that his ministry seeks to implement all procedures related to the requirements of local and international aviation authorities, to ensure the lifting of the ban on Iraqi Airways flights on the continent of Europe, noting that several measures have been taken to advance the company's work and expand its map.
