[size=52]A parliamentary move to “correct the wrong paths” in the Ministry of Industry and activate stalled projects[/size]
[size=45]Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Strategic Planning Committee, Mohamed Al-Baldawi, considered that “wrong policies and corruption” had disrupted the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, stressing the need to continue activating the stalled projects and partnering with the private sector.[/size]
[size=45]Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Strategic Planning Committee, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, said, “Minister of Industry and Minerals Khaled Battal was hosted to discuss the government program and its implementation by the ministry, its strategy and work, the projects it is implementing, and how to improve the situation of loss-making companies in the ministry.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Baldawi explained, “The Ministry of Industry and Minerals is one of the most important ministries in the country, but it has gone through difficult circumstances during the past period. This ministry was structured due to wrong policies and administrative and financial corruption.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, “Now the Ministry of Industry has begun preparing plans and strategies that separate small projects that are supposed to go to the private sector and adopting strategies for strategic projects and industries that advance the country in the right direction.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Baldawi continued, “Today, projects have begun, such as the (Nebras) project, which has been stalled since 2010, where serious steps have been taken in it. It has also moved towards minerals and mining, such as the manufacture of cement, phosphate, sulfur, Noura, and other projects that the state can adopt, provided that it supports the private sector in investment projects.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that “the Ministry entered into partnership contracts with the private sector, but the partnership is based on actual work and access to real industry capabilities.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Baldawi stressed, “Now the existing ideas need support and direction from the state, and that the Prime Minister attaches importance to the national industry, and supporting and protecting the national product is also a necessity, but there is also a corresponding need to think about protecting the consumer, but we do not think about protecting the product.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Baldawi concluded by saying, “The Ministry of Industry is in the process of embarking on correcting the wrong paths that the Ministry of Industry went through in the last period and bringing industries in accordance with the plan drawn up by the minister. We hope that the opinions will lead to the reality of implementation.”[/size]
