Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed the political and security situation with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, his deputy, Qubad Talabani, and their accompanying delegation.
The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated in a statement received by Al-Masala that Al-Maliki received, in his office, Barzani, Talabani, and their accompanying delegation, in the presence of members of the State of Law coalition.
He added that during the meeting, developments in the political and security situation in the country were reviewed, and the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region was discussed.
He continued, the two sides stressed the importance of resolving the existing differences between the federal government and the region, especially with regard to the budget and a number of laws, in accordance with the constitution and the law and according to fair and just paths that take into account the rights of all the Iraqi people. It was also agreed on the necessity of continuing communication with all political forces with the aim of cooperating to resolve the issue. Problems that obstruct the political process away from political and media escalation.
