The Parliamentary Services Committee is studying and reading a number of important laws in the coming days, including the laws of the Iraqi Bank Fund, slums, and the Fund for Provinces Affected by Terrorism.
Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Mahdia Al-Lami, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: The committee is working during the next stage to study a number of important laws, most notably the Iraqi Bank Fund Law, for which those concerned were hosted in order to read it a second time, noting that this law includes giving Loans to solve the housing crisis to build a house whose area should not be less than 100 square metres, in addition to setting the loan amount at 60 million per residential unit.
She pointed out that the committee proposed that the loan amount be 75 million to be sufficient for construction, especially with the recent rise in the prices of materials, and pointed out that the project to address random violations is supposed to have two laws, the first to address random housing, and the second to support the treatment of slums, to be a legal cover. And financially to solve this problem. Al-Lami explained that the problem of slums is complex and requires significant legal and financial support allocated within the budget to address it, adding that the committee is following the Law of the Reconstruction Fund for Affected Areas, as there is a delay in rebuilding the affected areas despite the existence of the law, and the head of the Reconstruction Fund for Affected Areas was hosted to find out the reasons for this matter.
