The region and Nineveh receive 413 billion dinars in farmers’ dues

The regional government and Nineveh Governorate each received a payment of their farmers’ dues for the 2023 agricultural season, worth 413 billion dinars.
The director of the Grain Trade Branch of the Federal Ministry of Trade in Nineveh, Muhammad Abdel Khaleq, said in a statement to “Al-Sabah”: The payment that arrived in the governorate is part of Nineveh farmers’ dues for the 2023 agricultural season, amounting to 180 billion dinars, and its distribution began among those entitled to it since the beginning of this week, stressing that There are other meals of benefits that will arrive successively in the coming days to be distributed among the aforementioned segment of those who have not received them.
A number of Nineveh representatives, along with a group of peasants and farmers in Nineveh Governorate, had appealed to the federal government to disburse the amounts of their entitlements for the current year 2023, due to the delay in disbursing them so far, which will be achieved during the next few days.
In the same context, the Director General of Kurdistan Trade, Nawzad Sheikh Kamel Mahmoud, announced in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that the region had delivered to the Federal Ministry of Trade 500 thousand tons of wheat crop for the current season, and its value amounted to 411 billion dinars, revealing the arrival of the first batch of it. To the region in the amount of 233 billion dinars, and 178 billion dinars remain, which will arrive soon, indicating that the amount will be distributed at the rate of 50 billion to Sulaymaniyah, 32 billion to Erbil, and 25 billion to Dohuk.
