    The Director-General of the General Company for Grain Trade, Muhammad Hanoun, confirmed the move towards a solution to pay all the dues of farmers and farmers for the years 2014-2015-2016, pointing to the determination of the amounts decided to the governorates of the Kurdistan Region to pay their dues for this year through the amounts received from the Food Security Support Law, Which amounts to 27 billion dinars for the governorates of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk.
     
    Hanoun said, "The Kurdistan Region has achieved great success in providing food security by participating in increasing Iraq's strategic reserves."
     
    Regarding the entitlements of farmers and farmers for the years 2014-2015-2016, Hanoun explained that “the Food Support Law granted the Ministry of Trade to provide dues to farmers, which are dues for the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, and some other Iraqi governorates.”
     
    In this context, he noted that a meeting was held in this regard under the chairmanship of the Minister of Trade in the Federal Government and the site managers in the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, "and all the details have been completed, and we hope during the next week that the matter will be resolved," stressing: "We are towards a solution to pay all the dues of farmers and farmers who They were marketed for the years 2014-2015-2016.
     
    As for the farmers' dues for this year, Hanoun said: "We decided to allocate 15 billion dinars to the governorate of Erbil, 7 billion dinars to Sulaymaniyah, and 5 billion dinars to Dohuk for this purpose."
     
    The Director-General of the General Company for Grain Trade added, "The processing rate for the provinces of the Kurdistan Region reaches from 90 to 95%, and the amounts will reach us next week, because the farmers of the Kurdistan Region have an entitlement, and it will be paid through the amounts we receive from the Food Security Support Law."
     
    The Iraqi Ministry of Trade owes 309 billion dinars to the farmers of the Kurdistan Region, for the wheat crop for the three years mentioned.
     
    On the first of last June, the Iraqi Minister of Trade, Alaa al-Jubouri, decided to allocate another 500 billion dinars to support farmers' entitlements for wheat for this year.
     
    Al-Jubouri announced in a statement that the total amount of money allocated by the Ministry of Finance for farmers' dues, reached one trillion dinars this year.
     
    The Iraqi government had decided in April 2022, to raise the price of one ton of wheat to 850 thousand dinars, and since the ninth of last April, the date of the start of receiving the wheat crop from Iraqi farmers, and until the first of this June, one million and 427 thousand and 752 tons of wheat were received. This year from farmers in the governorates of Iraq.
