[size=45]The Directorate of Social Welfare in Diyala revealed the arrest of approximately 2,800 employees, retirees, and members of the security services who receive salaries within the social protection network.[/size]
[size=45]Director of the department, Ahmed Othman, said, “The audits revealed the presence of 2,778 overtakers of social assistance and protection salaries from various civil and security departments who have been receiving double salaries over the past years.”[/size]
[size=45]He confirmed that legal measures had been taken to recover salaries from the violators, “which included paying the amounts in installments for 10 years or paying them in cash by the violator on a voluntary basis,” noting that “the number of those in installments exceeded 1,824.”[/size]
[size=45]Othman pointed out, “Adopting the electronic intersection system to detect and continuously follow up on the file of transgressors to ensure the inclusion of the largest number of those entitled to social benefits from the poor and low-income segments.”[/size]
[size=45]Regarding the presence of officials who exceeded social protection salaries, Othman explained, “We have not discovered any officials among those who exceed social protection salaries since we took over the administration of the directorate until now.”[/size]
