Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed, on Friday evening, that the largest Iraqi infrastructure projects currently in place are being implemented by reputable South Korean companies.
This came during his meeting in New York with the President of the Republic of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, on the sidelines of his participation in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting witnessed discussions in various areas of bilateral cooperation and strengthening partnership. The two sides also exchanged an official invitation to visit the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for South Korea's positive positions towards Iraq and the support it provided during the war on terrorism, stressing Iraq's aspiration to strengthen relations and partnership with Korea, especially since the largest Iraqi infrastructure projects currently in place are being implemented by reputable Korean companies.
The Prime Minister referred to the vital and strategic development road project, which represents a corridor linking the Gulf and Europe through Turkey, and has large and promising investment opportunities and industrial cities that will be established along its path, calling on Korean companies to contribute effectively to these opportunities.
For his part, the Korean President reiterated his country's endeavor to sustain the best relations of bilateral exchange and cooperation, and the desire of Korean companies to contribute to reconstruction efforts in Iraq, stressing that a Korean economic delegation will visit Iraq soon in order to discuss more foundations of economic cooperation.
