United Nations: Water shortages in Gaza have become a matter of life and death for more than two million people

{International: Al-Furat News} The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that the water shortage in Gaza has become a matter of life and death for more than two million people.
In its statement, the agency stressed the need for fuel to reach Gaza urgently.
Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, said: “Throughout the Gaza Strip, more than two million people are at risk due to water shortages. It has become a matter of life and death. This is essential and fuel must be delivered to Gaza immediately to provide water for two million people.”
The agency confirms that the Gaza Strip is suffering from running out of clean water after the water station and public water networks stopped working.
People are forced to use contaminated water from wells, which increases the risk of disease.
He continued: “We urgently need to deliver fuel to Gaza. Fuel is the only way to provide people with safe drinking water. If this is not done, people will start to die from severe dehydration, including children, the elderly and women. Water is now the last remaining lifeline.” “I call for the immediate lifting of the blockade on humanitarian aid.”
