    Today, Wednesday (October 18, 2023), the Federal Integrity Commission announced that it had monitored a violation of real estate belonging to the state worth 35 billion dinars in Nineveh Governorate.
    The authority stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “two control operations were carried out regarding cases of infringement on state real estate worth thirty-five billion dinars, and violations in the process of renting stores in Nineveh Governorate.”
    She explained, “The staff of the Nineveh Investigation Directorate monitored that the president and members of the Cooperative Society for Housing Oil Employees in the governorate trespassed on state real estate in Nineveh,” indicating that “the aforementioned persons seized state-owned land with an area of ​​(205) dunams.”
    She added, "The president and members of the association divided the land into (970) pieces and sold them to citizens," noting that "the estimated value of the encroached upon land amounted to (34,920,000,000) thirty-four billion nine hundred and twenty million dinars," noting that "setting the priorities of the association and organizing a report A legal claim against the seized items in a criminal case in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.”
    She pointed out that "the staff of the directorate arrested the director of the accounts department in the Nineveh Education Directorate, his assistant, and the official of the school storerooms division in the directorate, against the backdrop of their renting the (400) school stores belonging to the directorate without records of evaluation, rental, or organizing contracts."
    She continued, “The staff of the Directorate, which carried out the investigation and audit, were able to arrest the accused while they were trying to print valuation and rental records for the purpose of signing them with previous dates,” noting that “the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is competent to look into integrity cases, decided to arrest the accused, based on the provisions of Article (331) of the Penal Code.”
