Today, Tuesday (August 15, 2023), the Federal Integrity Commission announced the seizure of real estate acquisitions worth one billion dinars, in collusion with the former director of the Baquba municipality.
The Commission stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "the work team of the Diyala Investigation Office, which moved to the Baquba Municipality Directorate, monitored books and priorities for registering (3) distinct real estate in the city center that were registered in violation of the law and without formal allocation records, as well as Forging registration books,” pointing out that “the value of real estate belonging to the municipality exceeded (1,000,000,000) billion dinars, and it was acquired in cooperation with the former director of the Baquba municipality, who is currently suspended in criminal cases that the commission investigated and referred to the judiciary.”
She added, "The team carried out two separate seizures at the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the city of Muqdadiya, during which (5) agricultural loans were seized that were granted by the bank to two people in violation of the law by using forged initials," noting that "this led to a waste of public money amounting to ( 111,000,000) one hundred and eleven million dinars.
In a separate operation in the Baquba Municipality Directorate - Human Resources Division, the Commission stated that "the original letter addressed to the Real Estate Registration Directorate in Diyala issued by the municipality containing the allocation of a plot of land to a citizen without a formal allocation record was seized."
