    The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, confirmed on Wednesday that his country, as an oil-producing country, is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
    This came during his participation in the third international conference entitled (Iraq, Climate Change - Implications for Security and Development), held at the University of Baghdad.
    Rashid stated, in a speech during the conference, that climate change represents a challenge that threatens the world and humanity as a whole, noting that Iraq is particularly affected by this phenomenon through rising temperatures, low rainfall, desertification, drought, and dust storms, stressing the necessity of spreading a culture of environmental concern to reduce these effects. Negativity.
    He added that Iraq, as an oil-producing country, is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and begin modernizing agricultural mechanisms and using modern irrigation system technologies, which will have an important role in achieving food security.
