Today, Thursday (November 2, 2023), the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced the receipt of another 250 billion dinars transferred from Baghdad, after the arrival of 200 billion dinars earlier today.
The ministry said in a statement: “Another 250 billion dinars arrived a short while ago through Al-Rashid Bank to the bank account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region in the Erbil branch of the Central Bank of Iraq.”
Earlier today, the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region confirmed the receipt of 200 billion dinars from Baghdad, indicating the start of distributing salaries starting the day after tomorrow, Saturday, so that the process will continue for 6 days.
The ministry said in a statement: “A short while ago, an amount of 200 billion dinars was transferred by Rafidain Bank to the bank account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region/Erbil branch of the Central Bank of Iraq.”
The Ministry indicated that it will begin distributing August salaries to employees of the Kurdistan Region, starting on Saturday, the fourth of this November, after adding local revenues, and completing the distribution process on Thursday, the ninth of this November.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, had previously directed the start of distributing the salaries of the region's employees, as soon as the agreed-upon amount of 700 billion dinars arrived from Baghdad.
After the visit conducted by the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and his meeting with federal government officials and leaders of political parties, the Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to send two trillion and 100 billion dinars over a period of 3 months to the region in the form of loans, at a rate of 700 billion dinars to the bank account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
