    {Politics: Al-Furat News} Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, on the sidelines of her participation in the conference (The Role of the Media in Promoting Participation in Elections) Which was held by the Presidency of the Republic.

    Rashid stressed: “The developments that the country is witnessing, especially in terms of security stability,” adding that “the government is working hard to strengthen the economic situation and improve the living and service conditions of citizens, especially in terms of basic infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, hospitals, and education.”
    The presidential statement, a copy of which {Al-Furat News} received, stated: “During the meeting, the importance of resolving the issue of the displaced in the country was emphasized, and working hard and urgently for their return to their areas and homes,” noting “the importance of the work of international organizations and agencies in this aspect alongside the ministries.” And the competent government departments, and enhancing coordination between the Presidency of the Republic and the House of Representatives, especially in draft laws submitted to the House.”
    In this regard, Al-Mandalawi said, “The importance of communicating with the Presidency of the Republic in order to legislate laws related to the requirements of citizens.”
    For her part, Plasschaert expressed her views being consistent with the proposals of the President of the Republic, providing “an explanation about the activities and programs of the United Nations agencies in Iraq and their specializations, especially in the ongoing preparations for holding the provincial council elections.”
