Today, Tuesday (November 21, 2023), the Ministry of Oil announced the completion of drilling two oil wells in the Al-Zubair and Al-Fakka fields in Maysan and Basra governorates.
The ministry stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the technical and engineering personnel of the Iraqi Drilling Company drilled the ZB-608 oil well with a depth of 3,598 meters using the IDC 38 drilling rig with a horsepower capacity of 1,500 horsepower within the contract concluded with the Italian company ENI to drill 37 oil wells in Al-Zubair oil field in Basra Governorate.
She added, "The company also completed drilling the FQCN-96 oil well in the Fakka oil field in Maysan Governorate, with a depth of 3,167 feet as part of a project to drill 22 oil wells in the Maysan fields for the Chinese company CNOOC. The well drilling operations were carried out using the IDC-55 drilling rig with a horsepower capacity of 2,000 horsepower."
