Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning indicated a clear stability in the Iraqi individual’s consumption of foodstuffs and the amount of spending on them.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdel Zahra Al-Hindawi, told the official agency, “There are 11 departments that represent consumer trends in all fields, including (food, non-alcoholic beverages, health, education, housing, shoes, clothing, entertainment, restaurants, and others.”) Pointing out, “These departments provide about 333 goods and services, and they are being followed up.”
Al-Hindawi added, “There is clear stability in the process of consuming food, as in previous decades the Iraqi individual spent approximately 90% of his income on food, while the percentage of spending on food currently stands at 30-31%, and this indicates the presence of... A state of stability and satisfaction for the individual, as he now spends on other aspects such as entertainment, health, and education.”
