A statement from Al-Sudani’s office received by Al-Sumaria News stated that the latter “received the Executive Director of the International Crisis Group, Comfort Ayro, and her accompanying delegation, and the meeting witnessed discussion of the most important issues and files taking place in the regional and international arena, as Iraq’s role in the region and its encouragement of dialogue were discussed, as well as its role.” In calming the issue of aggression against Gaza.

The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, that "Iraq has become a key to solutions, after it has come a long way in the democratic path, calling on international organizations to truly recognize the progress achieved in Iraq, at different levels."

Al-Sudani explained, according to the statement, “the importance of the upcoming provincial council elections, and the constitutional entitlement they represent and the strengthening of decentralization in Iraq, and that the government today enjoys the support of a broad coalition of Iraqi national political forces that include all components of the Iraqi people.”

Regarding the developments of events in the occupied Palestinian territories, Al-Sudani pointed out that “the international community and the great powers did not fulfill their responsibility properly in stopping the aggression against Gaza,” stressing that “what is happening today is an extension of many years of racist policies pursued by the occupation entity, which continues to persist.” In violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.”
