Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed today, Sunday, that the government has raised the slogan of not maintaining any delayed projects, while indicating that the year 2024 will be the year of project completion.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated, in a statement, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired today a meeting of the service and engineering effort team, during which the report on the progress of implementation and work completed at the sites and projects undertaken by the team in Baghdad and the governorates during the years 2022 and 2023 was discussed.” .
During the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to a comprehensive presentation of the reality of work on the projects and the rates of progress, and was informed of the obstacles that hinder the work, in addition to following up on the necessary procedures to continue the smooth flow of implementation, and the bills of quantities related to the projects until the end of the current year.
The Prime Minister stressed that "the team, with its exceptional work style, was able to reduce project costs and compress the time required to complete them," directing "to overcome obstacles in all aspects of the work and maintain momentum in all working group formations."
The Prime Minister reviewed "the assessment of the reality of work, by the advisory body represented by the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate," stressing "the importance of adopting technical examinations for projects upon completion, and not approving any project that is not subject to full engineering examinations and standards."
He stressed that "reducing costs should not be at the expense of quality and efficiency standards," pointing out that "the government has raised the slogan of not maintaining any lagging projects, and that the year 2024 will be the year of project completion."
