Yesterday, Tuesday, the Iraqi government condemned the American attack on Iraqi military sites in Babil Governorate.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement it received, "The Iraqi government confirms that it, through all its security forces, all its constitutional institutions, and all its legal authorities, is dealing firmly with the attack by some elements on the headquarters of foreign diplomatic missions or the places where military advisors from friendly countries are present." These attacks have previously been diagnosed as hostile acts that affect the sovereignty of the Iraqi state, and it is unacceptable for them to be committed under any circumstances or under any name or justification.”
The statement added, “What happened at dawn on Tuesday, in which Iraqi military sites were targeted by the American side under the title of response, and led to the martyrdom of a member and the injury of 18 others, including civilians, is a clear hostile act, not constructive, and does not serve the path of long-term common interests.” “In extending security and stability, it works contrary to the declared desire of the American side to strengthen relations with Iraq.”
He pointed out, "This step harms bilateral relations between the two countries, and will complicate ways to reach understandings through joint dialogue to end the presence of the international coalition, and, above all, it represents an unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty."
The statement continued: “Our security forces have succeeded in extending security and stability throughout our country, and achieved victory over the terrorist ISIS gangs, which no longer pose a threat to Iraqi national security. Therefore, preserving the fruits of this victory is at the core of our security and strategic priorities, and we will not allow any party “By compromising what was achieved and consolidated through thousands of precious sacrifices.”
For his part, the acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, said: “We strongly condemn the American attack that took place at dawn on Tuesday against state institutions, the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, in a number of governorates, and we consider it a serious violation and blatant violation of the sovereignty and security of the country.”
He added: "We renew our categorical rejection of undermining the sovereignty of Iraq and tampering with its security and stability under any pretext, and we consider that the attacks carried out by the American forces on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which resulted in the martyrdom of a member and the injury of 18 others, including civilians, under the name of (response) are hostile acts of "It would harm the common interests between the two countries."
He stressed "the need to avoid actions that would threaten stability throughout the country," stressing that "the government has the only right to implement the law and hold violators accountable, and no party should neglect its role or overstep its prestige."
Yesterday, Tuesday, a security source reported that 19 members of the Ministry of Interior and the Popular Mobilization Forces were injured in a US aircraft bombing that targeted the headquarters of the Mobilization Forces in the Algeria area in the center of the city of Hilla in Babil Governorate.
