On Saturday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives resumed its session dedicated to electing a replacement for its former Speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, while deputies leveled accusations against the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament of violating Parliament’s internal regulations.[/size]
[size=45]As the session proceeded to complete the second round of electing a new Speaker of Parliament, amid conflicting reports about the withdrawal of MP Salem Al-Issawi in favor of the Shaalan Al-Karim Taqaddam Party candidate.[/size]
[size=45]Representative Hanan Al-Fatlawi wrote in a tweet on the () website, in which she stated, “Delaying holding the session until now is a clear disdain for the representatives and an unfortunate violation of the bylaws. Is it reasonable for us to wait for approval from outside the council? I call on Mr. Al-Mandalawi to hold the session and adhere to the bylaws.”[/size]
