The abolition of financial privileges for officials is widely praised

The opinion of specialists in local and international political affairs; The recent directives and instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani regarding facilitating the implementation of the law abolishing the privileges of officials is a major step to curb the excessive and excessive use of self-rights by officials and the exploitation of their financial privileges. The head of the Iraq Center for Strategic Studies, Dr. Ghazi Faisal, told Al-Sabah: “The Prime Minister’s directive towards implementing the law abolishing financial privileges for officials is an important measure to overcome the excessive use of the personal rights of officials through financial privileges and various allocations that burden the state.” At the level of the three presidencies, as well as at the level of the House of Representatives, as well as ministers, undersecretaries, general directors, and various higher levels.”
He pointed out that "any successful country in the world goes to streamline and reduce the rates of financial allocations and privileges for officials, including not using private planes, state cars, fuel cards, etc., especially since they are restricted by strict laws that often lead to legal penalties against officials." Those who violate it, and may lead to dismissal when state resources are used for personal reasons and self-interests, such as election campaigns or for family purposes, which constitute a violation of the administration law, administrative discipline, and financial laws.”
Faisal noted, “Unfortunately, Iraq has witnessed, as many reports have indicated, an inflation in the amount of personal funds and high-level salaries that are not commensurate with the standard of living and the economic situation of the country, which constitutes a burden on the state’s annual budget at a time when millions of Iraqi people live below the level of the income line.” Poverty, as more than 12 million people suffer from poverty, including 4 million living in informal cities, six million orphans, and two million widows, in addition to unemployment affecting more than 16 million Iraqis, in addition to the problems of backwardness, illiteracy, destruction of the economic infrastructure, and lack of industry.” He stressed, "It is assumed that state officials, if they are concerned for the people, their lives, and their economic security, voluntarily waive the amount of allocations and material gains from these positions."
For his part, the political analyst in international affairs, Dr. Haider Salman, indicated in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that “it is beyond doubt that the administration of the Sudanese Prime Minister has given Iraq political stability in light of many issues, including the fight against corruption and personal interest in the issue of gas exploitation.” In addition to the economic card, reliance on the private sector, openness to countries, and many things that led to political stability during the Sudanese era.”
He added, "Issuing instructions to facilitate the implementation of the law to cancel privileges could include the lower and middle class of officials, but the truth confirms that senior officials and first-line leaders from the state level, in addition to bloc leaders - logically - are not included in general," and he continued: " We doubt that the law will include the first-line class, and therefore the scenario will be repeated to include a specific class, but it will be an achievement, but it is partial.”
