    Fadi Al-Shammari, political advisor to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, said today, Wednesday (January 31, 2024), that Al-Sudani is making marathon efforts to reduce the threat index and contain the dangers of expanding the conflict.
    Al-Shammari stressed in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the situation in the region is witnessing complex developments and imminent dangers that require serious work and striving to reduce the level of tension in the region,” stressing the necessity of providing all necessary support and support from the active forces in the country, while emphasizing the importance of All parties support Sudanese efforts to prevent any escalation that may occur.
    He explained that "Iraq is considered a cornerstone in the regional and international arena, at the political, military and economic levels, and with the rapid developments and continuous changes that the region is witnessing, and the continued rise in the security challenges index, it is necessary to make urgent efforts and take effective measures to reduce the escalation, move towards a permanent calm, and stop the beating of the drums of war." 
    Al-Shammari added, “The Iraqi government plays a fundamental role in bringing the viewpoints of regional and international actors closer together to reach a state of lasting peace and establish new rules of engagement to avoid the region from the dangers of wars breaking out on multiple fronts and the resulting security and economic repercussions that cast their shadows over the world.”
    He stressed "the necessity of calling on the international community to provide the necessary support to achieve the goals of the Iraqi government, strengthening cooperation with the government, providing the necessary diplomatic support, and sustaining the momentum of negotiations. Thus, through this joint effort, it is possible to achieve a reduction in tension and a shift towards a more stable and secure environment for the entire region and spare countries... Wars that could spread to the entire Middle East.
