    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, decided to grant a generous reward to officers and members of the Najaf Governorate Police for their role in resolving the case of the assassination of retired Dr. Faisal Al-Huwaizi.
    A document issued by the Najaf Provincial Council addressed to the Office of the Minister of the Interior on the fourteenth of this month and obtained by “Baghdad Today” stated that “in view of the exceptional efforts in exposing the crime, the heroic stance and the arrest of the killers of retired Dr. Faisal Hussein Al-Huwaizi by the provincial police chief.” Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf and a group of officers and ranks who performed valiantly in performing their security duty and in a record time within thirteen hours, please kindly review and consider the possibility of granting them an advance to appreciate their efforts and encourage them in maintaining security.”
    The document also included the minister's margin of approval to disburse a cash reward and excellent salary for a period of six months.
    A judicial source reported, on Tuesday (May 14, 2024), that a death sentence by hanging had been issued against the killers of retired Dr. Faisal Al-Huwaizi. 
    The source told "Baghdad Today", "Today, the Najaf Criminal Court issued a death sentence by hanging against the killers of Dr. Al-Huwaizi."
    On May 3, 2024, the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of the killers of the retired dentist, Faisal Al-Huwaizi, whose body was found inside his home in Najaf Governorate. 
    The Interior Ministry stated in a statement, received by "Baghdad Today", that "with a distinguished intelligence effort and through field follow-up, a joint force from the Falcons and Anti-Crime Cell in the Najaf Governorate arrested the killers." 
    The Dental Syndicate/Najaf Branch had previously announced the killing of retired Dr. Faisal Al-Huwaizi inside his home in Najaf “as a result of a treacherous criminal incident.”
