    The Parliamentary Integrity Committee announced the start of an investigation into the files of a number of officials who left their positions, while stressing that it would do its utmost to preserve public money. [/rtl]

    [rtl]The committee’s media office said in a statement that it “held its regular meeting chaired by Representative Ziad Al-Janabi to discuss the committee’s work plan for the second legislative semester of the third legislative year.”[/rtl]
    [rtl] He added, "The meeting confirmed the committee's keenness to strengthen its role in the legislative and oversight fields, as a number of topics on its agenda were reviewed, most notably field visits to ministries, agencies and entities not affiliated with a ministry and the mechanism for forming committees to follow up on the work of these institutions, in cooperation with the Integrity Commission and the Audit Bureau.” Finance. Al-Janabi confirmed, “The committee has begun activating investigation paths into the files of a number of officials, whether those who have left office or are still in office,” explaining, “The new legislative chapter will witness hearings, hosting sessions, and expanded activity in this regard.” He pointed out, "This sensitive file will receive priority during this legislative term, in light of the information available and the files that have reached the committee," pointing out, "The formation of subcommittees to follow up on the files of a number of ministries and departments in the governorates, in light of what has been raised about them recently." "From suspicions." He stressed, "The Parliamentary Integrity Committee will make every effort to preserve public money, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities."[/rtl]
