The committee said in a statement that it "held its regular meeting, chaired by MP Ziad Al-Janabi, to discuss the committee's work plan for the second legislative term of the third legislative year."

The meeting, according to the statement, stressed "the committee's keenness to enhance its role in the legislative and oversight fields, as a number of topics on its agenda were reviewed, most notably field visits to ministries, authorities, and entities not affiliated with a ministry, and the mechanism for forming committees to follow up on the work of these institutions, in cooperation with the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau."

For his part, Al-Janabi confirmed that "the committee has begun activating investigations into the files of a number of officials, whether those who have left their positions or are still in office," noting that "the new legislative session will witness hearings, hosting, and extensive activity in this regard."

Al-Janabi announced "the formation of subcommittees to follow up on the files of a number of ministries and departments in the governorates, in light of the suspicions recently raised about them," stressing that "the Parliamentary Integrity Committee will do its utmost to preserve public money, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities."
