    Information / Baghdad..
Today, Monday, Basra MP Amer Abdul Jabbar accused foreign companies of polluting the water and environment in the province, stressing that the province has only reaped promises and resounding slogans before each election.

Abdul Jabbar told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The economic capital of Iraq has become a source of environmental pollution, indicating that the water that reaches Basra is polluted water."
He added, "The governorate is suffering because of the licensing rounds at the expense of its people, noting that the burning gas is black and pollutes all parts of the governorate."
He pointed out that "there is a critical moment for the government to ensure that the governorate has clean water and basic services, calling on foreign oil companies to "provide jobs and social benefits to the governorate's residents and take all necessary measures to protect the environment."
