    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced that it has included the financial allocation to increase the salary of the full-time appointee in its budget schedule for next year.

The head of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs at the ministry, Dhikra Abdul Rahim, said in a statement reported by the official newspaper "Al-Sabah", and reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "efforts are continuing between the ministry and the parliamentary labor committee to provide the necessary financial allocations to increase the salary of the full-time appointee."
She added that the Authority has begun preparing its general budget tables for next year and the estimated amounts in order to present them to the Ministry of Finance in preparation for discussion and increasing the financial allocation for the Authority to ensure the implementation of all the components of its law that serve the interests of persons with disabilities, expressing her hope that this increase will be approved and released to beneficiaries during the coming year.
Abdul Rahim explained that "the number of beneficiaries of the full-time employee's salary is 372 thousand, while the number of those covered by social assistance from people with disabilities and special needs is 409 thousand and 113 beneficiaries from heads of households and individuals."
Abdul Rahim noted that "the ministry seeks to implement the components of the national strategy for people with disabilities in coordination with UNICEF, which aims to develop a comprehensive policy framework that ensures respect for the rights of people with disabilities and promotes an inclusive environment for equitable access to education, health care, social protection, and empowerment opportunities, and improves their access to public places, transportation, and full participation in economic, social, and cultural life, and addresses discriminatory barriers, noting that the strategy is being implemented in steps based on well-studied plans for the coming years in cooperation with relevant ministries."
