    Baghdad Today - Erbil
Editor-in-Chief of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Al-Taakhi newspaper, Jawad Malekshahi, confirmed today, Thursday (October 3, 2024), that all successive governments of the region have faced local and regional difficulties and pressures.
In an interview with Baghdad Today, Malekshahi said, "The ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government faced great pressure from the partners in the cabinet itself, and unfair decisions and arbitrary practices from the government, the federal court, the armed factions, and the regional powers."
He added, "The Corona pandemic had repercussions that led to a recession in the global economy, which negatively affected the government's plans and programs."
He pointed out that "what Masrour Barzani's government faced in terms of siege, cutting the budget and employees' salaries, and stopping oil exports, i.e. cutting off the artery of its economy, in addition to direct bombing, sabotage with missiles and drones, and psychological media warfare from the local and regional yellow media, if any of the countries in the region had faced it, it would have collapsed within a few months and everything would have ended."
The relationship between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government authorities is witnessing ongoing tensions against the backdrop of multiple crises, most notably salaries and oil exports.
