    District council: 76 suspects arrested, 12 vehicles seized in Amiriyat al-Somoud

    Anbar – (IraqiNews.com) Head of Amiriyat al-Somoud District Council in Anbar province, Shakir Mahmoud, announced on Tuesday, that security forces arrested 76 suspects and seized 12 stolen vehicles in the district.
    Mahmoud said in a press statement, “Security forces managed to arrest 76 suspects in Amiriyat al-Somoud district (23 km south of Fallujah),” pointing out that, “They were sent to detention center for interrogation.”
    “Security forces also seized 12 stolen and unlicensed vehicles,” Mahmoud added. “The [security] forces continue operations to fully cleanse the district of Amiriyat al-Somoud from the remaining sleeper cells,” Mahmoud explained.

    Earlier this week, Mayor of Amiriyat al-Somoud district Faisal al-Eissawi announced launching a security operation to liberate the district from sleeper cells, and remove explosives and IEDs.
