Defense Minister stresses importance of international coalition in fight against terrorism

Defense Minister Irfan Mahmoud al-Hayali on Sunday stressed the importance of supporting the international coalition forces in Iraq in its fight against terrorism.
"Defense Minister Irfan Mahmood al-Hayali received in his office on Sunday the US Charge d'Affaires Stephanie Williams and the Commander of the Central Region Forces, General Stephen Townsend," a Defense Ministry statement said.
"The meeting discussed the stage of liberating the right coast in the city of Mosul from terrorist gangs," the statement added.
He praised the "victories achieved by the heroes of the Iraqi army," stressing "the support of the coalition forces to Iraq in its war against terrorism from training, armament and information as well as increased air strikes."
The meeting was attended by the official of the Office of Coordination and Security Cooperation, General Scott McCain. Ending 29/9
