Government committee to reduce fiscal deficit by 2020 budget

The prime minister's financial advisor, Mazher Mohammed Saleh, revealed thursday that a committee of the Ministry of Finance is currently reviewing the estimate of the expenditures and revenues of the budget bill for fiscal year 2020.
Saleh said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (AA) that "the committee to review the estimate of expenditures and examine revenues of the Ministry of Finance, is working to reach the lowest fiscal deficit for the 2020 budget, approaching the data of the Financial Management Act, which requires the availability of cover to meet financial reinforcements." .
"It is difficult to come up with an engineering that will end the fiscal deficit, but it is necessary to reach financial estimates that provide sustainability, i.e. the ability to cope with any situations of exchange difficulties caused by sudden requirements during the fiscal year," he said.
