A member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed, on Thursday, that there are positives in the electricity file, after implementing government plans.

Al-Saadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that "several reasons stand behind the continuity of the electricity crisis in Iraq, despite the spending of tens of billions of dollars to build huge stations, but we are facing a great scarcity in the summer seasons, which increases the suffering of the people due to external interference."
He added, "3 positives will occur in the electricity file in Iraq during the coming period, the most prominent of which is the improvement of its supply and the reduction of cut-off hours significantly after the completion of foreign companies' comprehensive maintenance operations for many important stations, accompanied by stability in the gas supply to operate the stations at high levels."
He pointed out that "the investment of gas in the Iraqi fields to support the operation of power stations has actually started, and there are efforts made by the Sudanese government in this context.
Iraq has been suffering from an electricity crisis that has been going on for many years, despite spending huge sums of money on establishing stations.
