Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: In a historical moment full of tension and anticipation, the election session for the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament was the stage on which the scenes of the political game were revealed.
According to representatives, the Shiite parties reached an agreement to choose Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani as Speaker of Parliament, but sudden transformations occurred during the session, shocking Al-Mashhadani and the forces that stand with him.
While the day of the session witnessed a broad Shiite agreement, some Shiite parties appeared with changed positions that turned the trend unfavorable to Al-Mashhadani.
Sources say that the heads of the blocs suddenly announced their intention to direct support towards “Shalan Al-Karim,” a scenario that was not expected.
The matter came to the point of being accused of betraying the agreement by Shiite parties to others with whom the agreement had been reached.

This political hypocrisy and deals in the dark surprised everyone. They betrayed Al-Mashhadani, and even the representatives of his bloc seemed surprised by the change in positions, which was also confirmed by Dhargham Al-Maliki, the representative for the State of Law.
