An official source in Anbar Governorate revealed, on Thursday, that the Integrity Commission opened an expanded investigation into the file of “the theft of financial differences for contracts from the Saqlawiyah district municipality, north of the city of Fallujah.”
The source told Al-Maalouma, “The stolen amount is 15 billion dinars from the financial differences in the contracts of the Saqlawiyah District Municipality Department, where the amount was transferred to the leaders of the Taqaddam Party, the officials responsible for managing the district’s affairs.”
He added, "Preliminary investigations indicate that the money stolen as a result of illegal financial deductions imposed by parties affiliated with the Taqaddam Party was for known reasons."
He stated, "The features of the thefts were embodied in the financial shortfall in the governorate's treasury, which is managed by Muhammad al-Halbousi and his leaders, who are responsible for managing government institutions."
He pointed out that "the process of stealing financial differences returned to the forefront again after those affected filed a complaint with the relevant authorities demanding that the file of theft of salaries of Saqlawiya municipality contracts be opened and that those involved be referred to the judiciary."
