The Director General of the Department of International Cooperation in the Ministry of Planning, Saher Abdel Kadhim Mahdi, today, Sunday, considered the railway corridors to be the backbone of the Iraqi economy.
The Ministry's media office stated in a statement received by Mawazine News that "the Ministry concluded the workshop on the updated plan for the work of the Iraq Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund, which the Ministry established in cooperation with the World Bank."
The Director General of the International Cooperation Department added, according to the statement, “The workshop came to review the projects funded by donors, which are managed in coordination with the World Bank within the Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund, and to discuss ongoing projects and new proposals, which included assurances that they are compatible with the government program and with the development plan and priorities.” Ministry in this regard.
He stated that “the new projects proposed within the Fund’s updated plan included: technical support and capacity building to implement the national education strategy in Iraq (2022-2031), in addition to supporting and developing farm management, and experimenting with entity models in Iraq, as well as comprehensive development capable of withstanding climate change.” In Iraq," referring to "bus-based transportation, as well as discussing the proposal for railway corridors, which are the backbone of the Iraqi economy."
