    The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that Iraq is seeking to implement the zero-sum nuclear reactor project to serve research issues, at a time when the Atomic Energy Commission confirmed its support for efforts to optimize the use of energy for peaceful purposes.

    The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority, Naeem Al-Aboudi, said during a joint press conference with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, that “a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency conducted, during the past two weeks, tours of a number of institutions, especially health ones, to prepare a program.” An integrated work aimed at enhancing coordination and finding appropriate solutions for cancer patients.”



    He added, "Iraq seeks to implement the zero-sum nuclear reactor, which serves research issues to create essential leaders for leading energy and treating nuclear waste, as well as benefiting from energy in several sectors, most notably electricity, desertification, and water."

    He stressed that "Iraq aims for energy to be exclusively for peaceful purposes, in addition to its support for the health and agricultural sectors."

    For his part, Grossi said during the conference, “My visit to Iraq aims to support the efforts of the Iraqi government in the field of optimal use of energy, as well as sending an official invitation to a team of specialized Iraqi experts and scientists to attend the nuclear energy conference that will be held in Brussels at the end of this month, especially since Iraq He is going through a bright phase with the agency.”

    He explained that "the International Atomic Energy Agency is looking forward to the visit of the Iraqi delegation to the Austrian capital, Vienna, in the coming weeks to work on developing a road map to develop Iraq's work, build infrastructure, and obtain nuclear technology in peaceful fields.

    " He pointed out that "the next stage aims to achieve several things, most notably stopping Turning the page from the past and turning to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, as well as supporting and establishing a peaceful nuclear program in Iraq, as is the case in Arab countries such as the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and also that these actions strictly take into account international standards.

    He stated that "the next stage will witness the development of a road map for peaceful uses to activate energy in the field of research to treat cancerous tumors, health and agricultural fields, and the launch of the Spreading Hope initiative to build capacity. He noted that a number of health institutions were visited to diagnose the basic needs of the therapeutic institutions and work to finance them to achieve the required results." .
