    Iraqi ports company announced on Monday the launch of a docks on the banks of the port of Umm Qasr in southern Iraq, and as pointed out that the end of this year will be signed on the establishment of new sidewalks and squares, confirmed the use of electronic technology in the movement and unloading of ships.
    He said the company's director of Riad Sawadi in an interview with (long-Presse) in the port of Umm Qasr, "the Iraqi ports opened berths in the other side of the port of Umm Qasr, and launched the pavement laying vessel it," noting that "this sidewalk carried out through the joint operating projects for ports."
    He added Sawadi, that "the company has a number of future projects in the construction of sidewalks in various disciplines, including sidewalks oil and sidewalks containers through the pre-announcement for projects companies wishing to implement a way of joint operation," noting that the end of this year will witness the signing of contracts on the establishment of sidewalks and yards for containers. "
    For his part, the Director of Relations and Media at ports Anmar net said in an interview with (long-Presse) that "the sidewalk, which was inaugurated today is located in the other side of the port of Umm Qasr has been created under the development of Iraqi ports for the 2018 plan, which aims to reach more than a total of 83 berths" He pointed to "the need for the establishment of an additional 35 berths, as well as the development of deep docks in ports to allow the docking of large ships."
    Added Safi, he said that "the Iraqi ports under the new plan will be developed where the sidewalks of the bridge cranes and handling equipment hand and linked electronically with the movement of the ships, control and unloading of cargo, including the comparable ports in the world."
    It referred to the port of Umm Qasr, which is located south-west of the province of Basra (590 km south of Baghdad), was created in 1965 with the Ministry of Transport announced in 2012 for the two ports Shatrah launched on the new name, "the port of Khor Abdullah." 
    Basra has four ports to receive ships laden with cargo, a port of Umm Qasr and Khor Al-Zubair, south west of Basra and the port of Abu Flus, south-east of Basra, and bastion of the city center.
