Patriots’ Weekly: First-round bye for the Patriots

Welcome New England Patriots’ fans to the latest edition of Patriots’ Weekly, the (un) official weekly sports’ article devoted entirely to the New England Patriots. With the latest edition of Patriots’ Weekly, we look at the New England Patriots first-round bye and their path to the Super Bowl.

Winners and Losers:: Who came out on top to open up 2017?
With a victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the New England Patriots clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs and have ensured that the path to the Super Bowl goes through Foxborough. The question remains as to who can challenge the Patriots in the AFC and, better yet, who can potentially beat the Pats in Gillette Stadium in January?
With the first-round bye, the New England Patriots get to sit back and watch as their potential opponents face off in the Wild Card round. With the number one seed, the Pats will host the lowest remaining seed in two weeks.
With the end of the regular season came the usual host of job changes in the NFL but it started early in the AFC East with the firing of Buffalo Bills’ head coach Rex Ryan. With Rexy wearing out his welcome with both the Jets and now the Bills, people have to wonder whether the Patriots have finally seen the last of Rex Ryan.
With the head coaching vacancies comes potential options for Patriots’ coordinators Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia. Both McDaniels and Patricia have the skillsets to be head coaches and the opportunity for the pair of them may be coming sooner rather than later.
These are just a handful of things touched on in the latest edition of Patriots’ Weekly. If you read one New England Patriots’ article this week, Patriots’ Weekly is the one for you.
