General Joseph Votel, Commander of the US Special Operations Command, during a a congressional hearing on the military operations in Syria and Iraq, disclosed the Iraqi military losses in Mosul's battle reached to 774 killings.

He pointed out that the first 37 days of Mosul's battle, Iraq lost 284 soldiers and 1600 wounded to regain the west side of the city.

He added that battles of the eastern side of Mosul city resulted in killing 490 military and wounding about 3000 more.

General Votel described the battle in the old city of Mosul as "very tough", where the conditions assist Da'ish (ISIS) fighters , not the Iraqi side.
