Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed Friday about Iraq 's possession of 70 tons of gold in the central bank and international banks, while the government and the central bank called for a new policy to keep the amount of gold.
The committee member said Sarhan Sylvana for "Awagel Press" that "Iraq has approximately 60 to 80 tons of gold , or up to 70 tons is the Iraqi Central Bank and international banks."
"The decline in the amount of gold to Iraq will affect the economy and the Iraqi dinar against foreign currencies and its value in the global markets."
He called Alselvana government and the Central Bank of Iraq to take a new policy to keep the amount of gold.
