Karbala: rationalizing electricity for 24 hours operation

     Karbala / Tareq al-Tarfi

The Directorate of Electricity Distribution Karbala achieved initial success in the program to provide citizens with energy around the clock against the rationalization of consumption, which was launched recently in three neighborhoods in the city and was expected to generalize this experience. As citizens of this project as successful and ended their suffering with electricity, One third of the amount of consumption of the neighborhoods included.

The director of Karbala Electricity Distribution Department, Mohammed Fadil al-Hasnawi, said in an interview with Al-Mada that the department has started supplying three residential neighborhoods in the center of the city with electric power continuously around the clock, after the Minister of Electricity approved a proposal submitted by our department to rationalize Energy consumption.
Noting that the life of the family and Al-Ansar and Yarmouk have been chosen as a model for the implementation of this program and intensified the education and awareness of the media to its citizens on the rationalization of energy consumption to the extent possible.
Al-Hasnawi added that the signs of success of this program have been clear since the first days of implementation and rationalized about 35 percent of the amount of energy that these neighborhoods used previously.
He called Hasnawi, citizens to commit to rationalization to be able to expand the work of this experience and benefit the rest of the people of Karbala, and to spread our experience to the rest of the provinces.
Noting that the amount of energy processed Karbala sufficient to meet the need for conservation if citizens committed to rationalization.
For his part, said one of the people of the family neighborhood in the center of Karbala, Saif al-Din Abdul Rahman, in an interview with (range), that the program launched by the Karbala electricity distribution department to provide us 24 hours in exchange for rationalization of consumption is a very good program has ended our suffering with electricity.
Noting that citizens in our region welcomed this experience and we agreed to cooperate and commitment to rationalize consumption to benefit everyone. For his part, Ahmed Jabbar, a citizen of Al-Ansar neighborhood in the center of Karbala, said in an interview with Al-Mada that the experience of rationalizing energy consumption in return for supplying it to us without interruption is a successful experiment and it proved that our suffering with electricity will not end unless we rationalize its consumption and adhere to the system.
    And Jabbar, that "
"Our energy consumption during the last few days was limited to operating the necessary equipment and extinguishing all the lights and cooling devices and others when we left the rooms of the house, and we were keen to commit to do so to benefit us and other citizens from this experience launched by the Karbala Electricity Distribution Department." Jabbar added that " And the public interest should be committed to rationalize the consumption of electrical energy in his home and work place, "stressing that" the rationalization should not be limited to homes only and that the shopkeepers are committed to this, especially those who put dozens of lights in their shop without indifference. " Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Fuel in the Karbala Provincial Council, Reza Al-Silawi, in an interview with (the extent), that "the program of rationalization of energy consumption is the first of its kind, which applies in Iraq and has included three residential neighborhoods in the city with a different standard of living."
    He explained that "
One of these neighborhoods used to consume 10 megawatts of power and electrocution for two hours in exchange for firefighting for another. On the first day of the rationalization program, its consumption dropped to eight and a half megawatts and the next day reached six megawatts, " he said. came as a result of citizens ' commitment to rationalization, and we hope to continue this commitment and prevail in the various segments of the society to circulate this experience to the rest of the city 's neighborhoods. "
He Silawi, said that" the success of this project depends primarily mainly on the citizens and there is a preliminary agreement with the Ministry of Electricity to circulate this CERP all regions Karbala Governorate Rath 's commitment to citizens to continue rationalization. "
He noted that" there is no time for this program ceiling it is possible to circulate to other areas during the first month of its launch in the event of citizens ' commitment to energy conservation in the neighborhoods where this dish Alberl.s. continued. "
"The energy supplied to the three neighborhoods is not part of the rest of the province, but allocated 50 megawatts of additional electricity from the Ministry of Electricity, and this addition was not consumed, but increased to four megawatts of each district after the work rationalization.
"Karbala consumes energy at the present time about 700 megawatts and we have great problems in distribution, because of the chaos of consumption and the excesses on networks by citizens," he said, "the problem of electrification that it is not production, but consumption and a solution only rationalization and all Citizens should be aware of this.
