The establishment of an alliance with the Mafia to smuggle oil
Italian police are investigating reports that the Mafia gangs have partnered with an extremist organization to supply them with smuggled oil to Europe, according to the British Times.
According to Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, police found that the amount of oil coming from Syria and Libya exceeded the stock of some Italian refineries, noting that this amount 'should not be there.'
