Seventeen people killed and three attackers killed in Burkina Faso

    Release date: 2017/8/14

{International: Al Furat News} The security forces of Burkina Faso managed to liquidate three terrorists on Monday during an attack on a Turkish restaurant in the capital Ouagadougou, killing at least 17 people and wounding eight others.
"Gunmen attacked Aziz Istanbul restaurant late on Sunday, and security forces deployed in an effort to repel the attack," Telecommunications Minister Remy Dandjino told a news conference.
"The operation is continuing, and we believe there are still people being held hostage inside the restaurant," he said.
A witness said he heard the sound of gunfire as the security forces deployed on the site, and saw customers fleeing from the restaurant "Aziz Istanbul". It was not clear who was behind the attack, but police suspected it was a terrorist act.
In January 2016, 30 people were killed when gunmen attacked a restaurant and a hotel in Ouagadougou. At that time, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibility for the attack.
